Indian Shares Fall in Early Trade on Weak Asia

The BSE Sensex opened 0.1 percent lower on Thursday, weighed down by negative cues from other Asian markets.

At 9 a.m. (0330 GMT), the 30-share BSE index was down 0.17 percent at 17,442.29, with 22 stocks falling.

The 50-share NSE index was down 0.2 percent at 5,234.45.
